Our Story:

Janet's JukeboxOne day, after a long rehearsal with their band Baker8, Janet Montalbo invited Phil Grande and Sean Baker back to her house for dinner. As Janet threw together a feast, her husband Tony, Phil and Sean picked up guitars and bass, sat at the kitchen table and proceeded to quickly write their first song together, “Take Me All Night”.

It was from this wonderful evening together that Janet’s Jukebox was born. It was also the moment of realization that the four would rather put their time and energy into creating new songs and not concentrate on performing as Baker8. In our songwriting journey we reached out to former Warner/Chappell publisher and songwriting Guru Judy Stakee. Judy enjoyed mentoring us so much that she is now a member of the Jukebox. Janet and Judy work beautifully together and the stories of our songs are so much stronger with Judy’s guidance.

With the sudden passing of Phil Grande, Baker 8 became a memory but Janet’s Jukebox has continued as Phil would have encouraged. We brought our good friend Paul Errico into our group and have continued doing the thing we enjoy best in life, creating new songs with people we love.

Our dream with this website is to promote Original Music on Long Island, NY to try to get it out to the rest of the world…ours and our friend’s music. Janet’s Jukebox hopes to share these bands and their web pages with you. We will be posting our own new material here on this website and linking to our friend’s music, as well.

We hope you enjoy the tunes.
